The Madeleine Choir School Community came together to raise Tuition Assistance dollars on Saturday, May 5, 2018. In typical MCS fashion costumes reflecting the year's theme -- 007 -- were over the top (click headline to see more).The annual event which includes many facets leading up to the Live Auction grossed over $265K this year. The Choir School was able to award over $680K in tuition assistance this school year.

The Madeleine Choir School sent all four choirs on tour in April for the first time in the school's history. St. Gregory and St. Cecilia Choirs toured Chicago and South Bend, and St. Nicholas and St. Hildegard toured the Los Angeles area.

This week our collegium students have been volunteering at The Good Samaritan Program. The students helped prepare sandwiches and snacks that will be used in the future. A few students also helped pass out lunches and hot chocolate at the visitor window. The Good Samaritan Program is open every day from 11am to 8pm. Thank you to Ms. Wealton and our parent volunteers for putting together this great excursion for the students.

The Madeleine Choir School took delivery of an 84-passenger school bus in early December. The bus was made possible by grant funding from the David Kelby Johnson Memorial Foundation.
The Madeleine Choir School was introduced to Elizabeth Johnson over a decade ago when she heard the student choristers sing in the Cathedral of the Madeleine. It was through Mrs. Johnson’s love and appreciation of the choir that the school has been fortunate enough to receive the needed funding to purchase a new bus. The David Kelby Johnson Memorial Foundation continues to carry out Elizabeth’s wishes to give to those in need in the name of her grandson. The procurement of the new bus has given the school the opportunity to strengthen its transportation system and continue to offer this service to students across the Wasatch Front.

The Choristers of the Madeleine Choir School gave a brilliant performance of the National Anthem before the Utah Jazz tipped off against the Dallas Mavericks on Monday, October 30, 2017. The rendition also brought an international flare to the National Anthem with a German Conductor -- the Choir School's Director of Music, Melanie Malinka -- and an arrangement by the Cathedral of the Madeleine's Organist, Dr. Gabriele Terrone who hails from Italy. The Madeleine Choir School congratulates the Jazz on their 104-89 victory and wishes them well in their coming season. Please click the headline or photo for a link to video of the performance.
