We hope you will join us for our third annual Alumni Carols & Cocoa reunion. RSVP for reserved seating to hear the MCS Choristers sing Benjamin Britten's A Ceremony of Carols in the Cathedral of the Madeleine, and then reunite with old friends, accompanied by hot cocoa and donuts, in the MCS Song School immediately following. Britten's A Ceremony of Carols is a seasonal favorite and one not to be missed! A unique and an unusual setting for treble voices and harp, with the “carols” being largely the product of 15th and 16th century writers, mostly anonymous. The work opens and closes with the choir processing to plainsong, the Hodie chant sung for centuries at Vespers on Christmas Eve, and the carol settings in-between deal with the traditional stories surrounding the birth of Christ.

Tickets are not required, but it is recommended to arrive early.

Each service will begin at 7:30 PM in the Cathedral of the Madeleine.

Four MCS students and choristers shone in Utah Opera's The Shining, providing haunting performances for the Halloween season.

The Reviews Are In: MCS Alumnus, Jonas Malinka-Thompson ('16) shines as Bottom in Ballet West's The Dream

Jane Maus (MCS '09) Reaches the Summit: A New Women’s FKT on the Grand Teton. Jane Maus made history on the Grand Teton, setting a new women's unsupported Fastest Known Time (FKT). Jane covered the challenging route in 3 hours and 45 minutes. That's 7,000 feet up along 14.5 miles. Pretty incredible! Jane also won the Cirque Series at Snowbird in July. Finishing 8th overall, she will race on the World's team this year.
