The Choir School Partners with local Music Advocates at the Mundi Project

The Mundi Project devotes every effort to provide youth access to pianos, music education, and innovative performance opportunities. They believe that every child should have the chance to be part of music, and, of course, we completely agree.
TMP provided four pianos for The Madeleine Choir School last August and these instruments have been used frequently ever since. We would also like to express our deep appreciation to the individual donors of each piano, Mary Gardner, Dorothy Harries, Joy Kahder, and Steve & Janet Witt.
Pictured here are Melanie Malinka, MCS Director of Music; Hana Janatova, TMP Executive Director; Mary Ann Erickson, TMP Board Member and Piano Bank Chair; and Matt Robertson, MCS Music Instructor.

MCS Students Recognize Major Benefactor of the Choir School, Jane F. McCarthey

Each year The Madeleine Choir School honors Jane F. McCarthey, one of the school's major benefactors, by celebrating 'Crazy Hat Day' in her memory. Mrs. McCarthey was a great fan of fancy and elaborate hats. October 3 marks the anniversary of her death and all MCS students attend a requiem Mass for Mrs. McCarthey -- with hats removed, of course. Pictured here are a few of our students today in their 'crazy' hats in recognition of all that Mrs. McCarthey and the McCarthey Family Foundation have done for the Choir School.

2017 Choir Camp

Our students are having a great time at Utah State University, participating in our annual Choir Camp festivities. The kids have had a busy week of activities and team building. Their week has consisted of rock climbing, water slides, and bowling to name a few! The kids also have been prepping for the upcoming concert season and school year. Not even a giant thunderstorm could stop our Choristers fun!

This is a great annual event, that takes many weeks of planning by our faculty and staff. Thank you to Melanie Malinka for always doing such a great job. We also would like to thank all of our parent volunteers, and high school chaperones for sacrificing their time and making this week so successful.
