Volunteering

Each family is required to complete a minimum of 25 hours of volunteer hours (15 for qualifying single parent families) in any approved school activity. You will be able to sign up for a number of opportunities (on-campus and off-campus) to earn the required 25 volunteer hours through the MCS  Volunteer Page on SignUp.com. Before you can do that, however, you will need to set up an account on SignUp.com.

For questions about required volunteer hours, email our Office Manager at [email protected].
For general questions about volunteering please email our HSA President at [email protected].

Daily Lunch & Yard Duty Volunteer Information

It is very important that we have volunteers signed up for Lunch and Yard Duties as it significantly assists our staff and faculty, and helps to ensure the safety of our students. Yard Recess and Lunch Duty volunteer times are Monday-Friday from 11:15-12:00 or 11:50-12:40. Lunch/Yard duty will count for DOUBLE VOLUNTEER HOURS. Make sure to enter the doubled amount when submitting volunteer hours into the Volunteer Hours Reporting Form

Lunch Duty volunteers will help monitor students in the lunchroom and assist the teacher on duty.
Yard/Recess volunteers will circulate on the quad and actively watch students on the playground.

All volunteers must check-in at the front desk.

Monthly Faculty Luncheon Assignment

  • Faculty & Staff luncheons take place in the Erbin Hall Faculty Lounge.
  • Email Megan Randazzo, [email protected]  and the Office Manager, [email protected] of the date you would like the luncheon to avoid conflicts with other activities. The school Office Manager will email the faculty of the scheduled date.
  • Request parent volunteers to bring in enough food beverages and utensils for 60-70 people. For December, plan for an additional 15 persons.
  • It is helpful to schedule two additional recess/lunch duty volunteers on the teacher luncheon day. This allows the teachers on lunch and yard duty some time to participate in the luncheon. Consider teaming with another grade for the extra coverage this day and do the same for them on their luncheon day.
Parents are responsible to record their volunteer hours through the TrackItForward platform: https://www.trackitforward.com/site/madeleine-choir-school. Please enter your all your volunteer hours through the TrackItForward tracking platform accessed through the linked button below. You must first register for an account to track your hours.  If you have an account you may enter your hours below or click here to register and/or log your volunteer hours.

All volunteers must complete the Diocesan Safe Environment Training prior to volunteering. Please use the link to create an account or check the status of your Safe Environment certification. Safe Environment certifications expire every 3 years, please make sure you are up to date before signing up to volunteer.

If you prefer to donate classroom supplies or materials, a $20.00 contribution will be equal to one hour of service. Families may choose to pay for volunteer hours not completed. Volunteer hours must be completed before Memorial Day weekend. More information on paying for volunteer hours or qualifications for single parent families, please review the Student Parent Handbook found on the Parent Forms and Information Page at:  https://www.utmcs.org/apps/pages/parentforms

Parents finding difficulty in completing their hours during the year should contact the Office Manager at [email protected] so that a resolution may be made.
