Our St. Nicholas and St. Hildegard choristers returned last Sunday from a successful tour to Southern California. It was the first time that our training-focused choirs went on their own performance tour – participating in a Catholic Youth Choir Festival. The kids were complimented many times throughout their three-day trip. It was often mentioned how respectful they were and how they carried the festival musically.
The St. Gregory and St. Cecilia choristers visited South Bend, Indiana, in what might be referred to as a Utah Catholic Schools return to the homeland as the MCS student choristers performed for the Sisters of the Holy Cross. The Sisters of the Holy Cross began Catholic Education in the State of Utah in 1875. Additionally, the choirs performed in concert at St. John Cantius in Chicago. Ironically, St. John Cantius edged out the Cathedral of the Madeleine only one year ago in the online "Church Madness" competition for the most beautiful Catholic church in America.
