MCS Artist Brings Home Multiple Awards

Congratulations to MCS Eighth Grader, Zosia Weglarz, as the recent recipient of two awards for her watercolor entry titled “Sunflowers” in the 2016 Greater Avenues Street Fair. Weglarz received the most votes in the People’s Choice Award category, and she was awarded the first place ribbon in the 10-14 year old category by the street fair “professional judges.”
“Zosia is that student who puts the most time and thought into her art projects,” says Choir School Art Teacher, Erin Mattes. “It is obvious that she wants to create meaningful pieces and each project is very special to her. I get so much satisfaction from seeing the creativity that the students bring to all the different projects we do at the Choir School, and I have certainly enjoyed watching Zosia express and develop her passion and talents as an artist. I was not surprised to hear that she won these awards.”
