Ms. Sarah Wealton
Born in Ishpeming, Michigan, Ms. Sarah Wealton, considers herself a, “Yooper!” She has been an educator for over 15 years. She attended Northern Michigan University, receiving a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education with minors in Mathematics and Fine Arts concentrating on Music. Ms. Wealton began her teaching career in Florida at Eckerd Youth Alternatives E-Nini-Hassee Outdoor Therapeutic School for Girls. Ms. Wealton joined the Madeleine Choir School in 2014.
Together, her and her partner, Jeff, share the responsibility of raising their daughter, Kennedy. They love watching sports together, especially baseball and even more so if Kennedy is playing. They spend a lot of time on their deck as a family viewing the moon and planets through their telescope. I guess you can tell, they are math/science nerds.
Wanting to leave a legacy that stays with her students, Ms. Wealton lives by Maya Angelou’s words, “People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.” Some causes that she cares about are: Best Friends Animal Society; Good Samaritan Program; YWCA; and, Water for South Sudan. If Ms. Wealton had a life motto, it would be, “Fair isn’t everybody getting the same thing…fair is everybody getting what they need in order to be successful.”
