Arcadia Chanut '09
Arcadia Chanut (née Payne) is thrilled to join the MCS team as the school librarian, and will be teaching library classes and information technology to students in elementary grades. Arcadia holds a UT Educator License, a dual H.B.A in Political Science and International Studies with a minor in Music from the University of Utah, and a Master of Education and a Certificate in School Management and Leadership from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. She has taught in Utah and New Mexico, and most recently, she worked as a program manager and instructional coach specializing in continuous school improvement with schools and districts across the country.
Arcadia is grateful for the opportunity to give back to the community that shaped her, and looks forward to affirming and celebrating students as they discover the joy and curiosity of learning that The Madeleine Choir School inspires to instill. She attended the Choir School from second through eighth grade, where she developed a lifelong love of music, learning, and service... and even met her husband, Raphael '10, while they attended school together! Outside of school, you can find Arcadia reading, singing, knitting, hiking with her dogs, or traveling with her husband.
Did you know?- Arcadia Chanut sang in the St. Cecilia and Schola choirs while attending MCS and now performs with the Utah Chamber Artists.
- Arcadia and her husband (also an MCS alum) were married in Chamonix, France in 2024, and celebrated with a giant wheel of Brie instead of a wedding cake!
- Arcadia taught in New Mexico for two years, both of her rescue dogs are from the Land of Enchantment, and she is firmly on Team Green Chile.
