Dr. Kristen Stokes Fuoco
Dr. Kristen Stokes Fuoco is a product of Catholic education, graduating from Juan Diego Catholic High School in Draper, UT and Santa Clara University, CA, and has been in education since 2007. Her first six years were spent as a general education teacher at St. John the Baptist Elementary school in Draper, Utah. During that time, she received her general education teaching license, English as Second Language endorsement, and her M.Ed. in Special Education from the University of Utah.
After the birth of her first child, she worked part-time as the Inclusion Specialist at the I.J. and Jeanné Wagner Jewish Community Center Early Childhood program. After the birth of her second child, she completed her Ph.D. in Special Education and Board Certification in Behavior Analyst (BCBA) from the University of Utah in June of 2020.
During her Ph.D. program, she engaged in extensive consultation and research in the areas of reading assessment, reading interventions, and behavioral interventions. Her research focuses on Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS), with an emphasis on training educators to implement evidence-based strategies that support students struggling with reading and behavior in general education settings.
She also has experience implementing Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) in Title I public schools across Utah. Her collaborative work spans a wide range of stakeholders, including parents, students, general and special education teachers and paraeducators, school coaches and social workers, school administrators, as well as district- and state-level PBIS/MTSS teams.
She is thrilled to continue her role as Director of Student Services at The Madeleine Choir School in Salt Lake City, UT.
