Athletics & Activities

The Choir School has an active after-school sports program through the Catholic Youth Organization (CYO) fielding teams in volleyball and basketball. The sports program is administered by the Athletic Director and coached by teachers and parent volunteers. In addition to the team sports offered, there are a variety of active afterschool opportunities throughout the year such as, Fencing, Dance, Sports Clinics, and Running Club. Students may also find interest in programs and activities through our Middle School Electives program, Yearbook, Student Council, Latin Club, and Robotics.

Hot off the Press! Announcing NEW Spring Sports Opportunities:

Track & Field: MCS Athletics will work with Coach Kepler, Head Cross Country and Track & Field Coach at the University of Utah, to offer Kindergarten - 6th grade MCS students an incredible opportunity to receive elite coaching in the fundamentals of running and three field events. More details will be shared following the conclusion of the basketball season.

Mountain Biking: For MCS students who love the outdoors and want to be part of a team, consider mountain biking! MCS Athletics is partnering with the Salt Lake City Composite High School Mountain Bike Team to offer a riding opportunity through their Jr. Devo Team. Rising 7th and 8th grade MCS students of all riding levels are welcome! Kickoff meetings will take place in mid-March to determine dates for the 2026 season, but families are encouraged to complete the new rider interest form now.

Utah Mammoth Hockey: The Cardinals and Utah Mammoth are teaming up to offer a Mammoth skills street hockey clinic! An exact date will be forthcoming, but it will be after the basketball season and for students in grades 3 – 8. Watch for additional details – date, cost, perks.
