The Madeleine Choir School

The Madeleine Choir School, a rigorous PreK-8 Catholic school with an emphasis on music and the liberal arts, is seeking to hire a part-time Librarian (25-28 hours per week) who will provide direct instruction in Information Literacy and manage the school library media center. This role involves:
● Maintaining and developing the digital and print resources available to students for research and leisure reading, providing reference and readers advisory service, and supervision of students during open quiet reading times;
● Managing library operations including circulation, acquisitions with TitleWave and EBSCO, cataloging, the materials budget, supervising volunteers, and the Alexandria integrated library system (ILS);
● Collaborating with teachers to support integration of research skills in classroom projects and technology integration;
● Staying informed about legal and technological developments relevant to library science and education
There is a possibility for this full time position to be split into two part-time positions (Librarian and Information Literacy Teacher).

The ideal candidate:
● Is energetic, professional, growth-minded, and interested in serving at our unique school community;
● Has a love for, experience in, and knowledge of Library and Information Science and its systems and resources, especially the Utah Library Media Standards, American Association of School Librarians Standards, and ISTE standards for Educators and Students;
● Has experience working with PreK-8 children and enjoys this age group.
