Position Purpose and Scope:
This position supports fundraising/development efforts through event planning, managing front of
house at concerts, and administrative support. The Development Events Specialist reports directly to the
Director of Advancement, in addition to closely collaborating with parent volunteers.
Key Responsibilities:
● 90% – Annual Fundraising Gala Organization
● 5% – Events Front of House
● 5% – Administrative Support for Office of Advancement
Key competencies:
● Excellent customer service skills with a passion for maintaining and building positive
relationships, especially with volunteers and event attendees
● Strong organizational and project management skills
● Event planning experience
● Ability to work with and maintain confidential information
● Astute attention to detail

Requirements
Minimum Requirements:
● Three years experience in event coordination, project management, or related experience;
● Requires high energy level with a positive,
“can do” attitude;
● Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects and details simultaneously;
● Requires self-direction, tact, diplomacy and a clear, courteous and professional manner when
dealing with constituents in the public and those within the school’s community;
● Must demonstrate effective oral communication skills and the ability to work cooperatively with
staff inside and outside of the department.
Preferred Qualifications:
● Bachelor’s degree
● Experience with a fundraising CRM such as Bloomerang, Raiser’s Edge, etc.
● Experience working directly with and/or managing volunteers
