Mr. James Goldrick

Born in the United Kingdom, James Goldrick grew up in Sydney, Australia. Following organ studies at the Newcastle Conservatorium of Music, studying with Philip Matthias, he was appointed Assistant Organist of St Mary’s Cathedral, accompanying the daily services of Vespers and Mass. He studied improvisation in France with Nigel Allcoat, and conducting in the USA with Carmen-Helena Téllez. From 2014-2018 James was Cathedral Organist of St Stephen's Cathedral, Brisbane, and Director of Music of St John’s College, University of Queensland. He regularly performed with both the Queensland Symphony Orchestra and the Queensland Youth Orchestra. He maintains a regular recital schedule, recently playing the opening concert of the Corsanico Organ Festival in Italy. In 2020, James was appointed Associate Director of Music of the Choir School of The Madeleine Cathedral, Salt Lake City, USA.
