MCS is very fortunate to have Ms. Vicky Lowe serving on our Foreign Language and Art faculty. Her artwork, grounded in the expression of her Latin American cultural heritage has been a source of remarkable beauty and encounter with many other artists in our community and further afield. In her role as Teaching Artist in Residence, this year she participated in roughly forty different community projects and collaborations which had the purpose of building, strengthening and connecting our migrant, diasporic, Indigenous and Latin American communities locally, nationally, and internationally. Some of the projects included: "Born from Corn"- a collaborative educational effort with Artes de Mexico en Utah, service as an artist and panelist for Corazón Migrante, and an Arts Collective exhibit which toured the US and had its final closing exhibit in Mexico City. We are deeply grateful to have Ms. Lowe working, painting, teaching and leading in our learning community!
