Title
Athletic Director and Physical Education Teacher
Location
The Madeleine Choir School
Description
The Madeleine Choir School seeks a Physical Education Teacher and Athletic Director to serve its student-athletes and the larger community. A new Gymnasium/Field House opened on the campus in September of 2024, providing state-of-the-art facilities that will enhance the physical education curriculum and host competitive sporting events throughout the year.
As a Physical Education Teacher, this individual will provide instruction aligned with the State of Utah curriculum to classes in grades four through eight according to the schedule prepared by school leadership. They will offer an Elective Course for seventh and eighth graders in Athletics each semester and serve on the Middle School staff, providing experiences that foster character formation for the young people we serve.
In the capacity of Athletic Director, this individual will enhance the school’s mission through the advancement of sport, athletic teams, competitive and non-competitive sporting activities, and physical education, and direct the recruitment, scheduling, training, and administrative oversight of our participation in the CYO league sports of Volleyball and Basketball. They will seek out expanded season opportunities for enhanced team play and initiate a spring season team sport for students.
A unique aspect of the AD position at the Choir School is the need to advocate for scheduling of games, matches, and practices that enable a both/and for the students as choristers and athletes, and assisting the administration with recess planning, including proposing activities that are safe within the confines of our limited recreational space.
There would be an opportunity to initiate a multi-week summer camp program for student-athletes, in collaboration with the Madeleine Summer Experience, that would be compensated in addition.
If this position is of interest to you, send a cover letter, resume, and three professional references to Gregory Glenn, Pastoral Administrator, at [email protected]
