The library at the Madeleine Choir School is an integral part of the school learning community in helping to prepare students to be engaged scholars and effective communicators. Students will learn research and information literacy methods, media literacy skills, and will be encouraged to become engaged readers. The library curriculum is integrated into the school wide curriculum and is developed in accordance with the Core Standards for Library Media established by the Utah State Office of Education.

The library materials available at the Madeleine Choir School, both print and electronic, support the curricular needs of the students and faculty and have been selected for their appropriateness for the school age population we serve. The library's current holdings are approximately 14,000 print volumes, 6 periodicals, and access to over 45 online databases via Pioneer - Utah's Online Library. The library is open during lunch for students to come in to check out books, read, and participate in books clubs and library events.

Remote Access for Online Resources

In addition to accessing online resources from the Madeleine Choir School campus, all electronic resources in Pioneer - Utah's Online Library can be accessed remotely by students and faculty from their personal computers using a login and password. The login information changes each August and is provided to students at the beginning of each school year.

If you need the login information to use Pioneer from home, contact Mrs. Foy at [email protected] and the current login and password will be provided. Additionally, any public library in the state of Utah will provide the login information for Pioneer over the phone, and any current public library card credentials will also grant access.
