Current COVID Impacted Quarantine Protocols

Updated as of 1.12.22

Due to the rapid increase of active COVID-19 cases, The Madeleine Choir School quarantine guidance is listed below. Please be aware the school will continue to update protocols as necessary.

With the increase in active cases, MCS has moved to a 7-day test to return timeline. The previously stated 5-day timeline requires isolated or 6+ feet distanced eating and with the high number of active cases, we are unable to facilitate this safely.

Step 1: Exposure or Positive Test Identified

Please notify Megan Randazzo at mrandazzo@utmcs.org as soon as you are aware of an exposure or positive test in your household or for your student.  Please provide the following information: date of exposure, date of positive test- PCR or Rapid, any and all symptoms, was exposure with a member of the household or outside of household, masked/unmasked exposure.

Protocol If Your Student Tested Positive for COVID-19

Your child will quarantine at home for 7 days and then test with our school office on day 7 (if symptom-free for 24 hours) in order to return to school (pending negative results). If you choose not to test at school on day 7 or your child tests positive on day 7, they will complete the 10-day quarantine and then may return to school.

Protocol If Your Student Has a Confirmed Exposure or an Active Case In Their Household

For students who are UNVACCINATED and/or students in grades PK - Third:

Your child will quarantine at home for 7 days and test with our school office on day 7 in order to return to school (pending negative results).

For students in grades 4-8 who are FULLY vaccinated (have at least two doses, boosters are highly encouraged) there are two options below:

Option 1: Your student may quarantine at home for 7 days and test with our school office on day 7 in order to return to school (pending negative results)

Option 2: If your student would like to attend school during the exposure period outlined by Principal Randazzo, the following must be in place:

  • If your student is symptomatic at any time, they must stay home
  • The student will be required to wear a KN95 mask or comparable mask
  • The student will be tested each morning at the office during the exposure timeline
  • The student will need to be fully masked and eat snack completely distanced 6 feet from anyone and outside only
  • The student will need to be checked out during the lunch period (they may not eat lunch at school due to the inability for the school to provide a distanced/isolated eating spot)
