Our Mission

The Madeleine Choir School, a Roman Catholic School in the Cathedral tradition, inspires young people to become engaged scholars, effective communicators, dedicated liturgical musicians, and responsible world citizens who seek to build a civilization of justice, mercy and love.

History

The Madeleine Choir School began offering academic and music instruction to students in 1996. Originally the classes, for students in grades four through eight, were held in the basement of the Cathedral of the Madeleine. Currently, the school occupies its own campus adjacent to the Cathedral.

Today, The Madeleine Choir School offers a full-time choir program and has expanded its curriculum to teach students in Grades Pre-K through 8. The choristers of The Madeleine Choir School sing Mass each Sunday morning and Monday through Thursday at 5:15 p.m. in the Cathedral of the Madeleine. The Choir also performs during the significant liturgical seasons of Christmas and Easter.

The Madeleine Choir School prides itself on providing a dynamic and well-rounded education for children—one that focuses on liberal arts, science, technology, and choral training. As greater numbers of parents have become interested in this kind of education, The Madeleine Choir School has experienced significant increases in the number of applications for admittance to the school.
